Popular actress and MP Upeksha Swarnamali who is now receiving treatment at the Sri Jayawardenapura Hospital after an assault is now being treated for a swollen eye, hospital sources said.

“She was not discharged as her eye was swollen, she will continue to receive treatment at the hospital,” sources said. She is said to be suffering form a black eye as a result of the assault and might have suffered internal bleeding as a result.

Meanwhile a senior police officer said that the incident is amicably being resolved at the moment and both parties will come to a settlement soon, he said.
“Her husband was asked to come and make a statement at the Mirihana police station but he had not turned up”, he added.
