An Army soldier shot and injured his wife inside Tissamaharama Police Station over a family dispute today (Dec. 03).
The man had also lobbed a hand grenade, but it had not exploded, said police spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana.
The wounded woman has been admitted to Karapitiya Hospital in serious condition.
As police brought two families to settle a dispute between them, the soldier had snatched a locally-produced galkatas gun and shot the wife.
The woman’s parents had been against her living with the soldier.
