Sri Jayawardenepura Hospital sources say that UPFA Colombo District parliamentarian Duminda Silva who is receiving treatment at the hospital was likely to be discharged from the hospital to be flown overseas for medical treatment.
Silva is being treated for gun shot injuries to his head sustained during the Mulleriyawa shooting incident on October 8th.
Director of the Sri Jayewardenepura Hospital, Dr. S.K. Gamage was elusive in responding to a query on whether Silva was being moved out of the hospital today.
“He is still in the ward,” the doctor said.
Dr. Gamage said that Silva’s family had made requests to take him overseas for medical treatment.
He added that the family could take him overseas under close monitoring by specialist doctors.
“The MP’s condition is still improving and following the surgery he underwent, it is satisfactory,” Dr. Gamage said.
