Chinthana Geetal Vidanage, the weightlifter to be found doping

Famous Sri Lankan weightlifter Chinthana Geetal Vidanage has used  illegal
stimuli during 2011 Asian Weightlifting Championship which held  recent April in
China.

Chinthana won the fourth place of the tournament and his test sample was  found
containing illegal stimuli and he was temporally banned to  participate any of
the games. This was informed by the Asian weight  lifting Federation to the
National Weight Lifting Federation of Sri  Lanka.

It has been noticed that Chinthana’s test sample consists of a High  Protein
which has taken as a supplement. Due to the overdose amount it  had Chinthana
has been banned. The element was a newly identified  illegal stimulus which is
not used to physical growth but for the mental  growth.

If it is proved that Chinthana has used illegal stimuli he will be  banned for
six months for sure. But he still has the chance to show that  he has not done
something so by appealing for a B sample test.

Meanwhile it says that Chinthaka has been under medical treatments of  the
Doctor in Kurunegala where the Boxer Manju Wanniarachchi also has  been.

However The National Anti Doping Organization(NADO) is to do a further
investigation on this sooner.

Chinthana was the first weightlifter to won a gold medal for Sri Lanka  in the
men’s 62 kg category weightlifting in the 2006 Commonwealth Games  held in
Australia.
